We were supposed to have left on Wednesday, November 22nd, 2006, but on that day the wind and rain were blowing hard enough to simulate a mini-hurricane. Instead, we got on the road on Thanksgiving Day, and spent a couple of days in historical Virginia, visiting Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown National Historic Site, and Yorktown National Battlefield Park. This was a chance to learn about our Revolutionary War History; to visit the place where Pocahontas turned cartwheels inside the "Olde Towne" at Jamestown and to walk upon the field where Brigadier General Charles O'Harra surrendered Cornwallis' sword and the British Army to Brigadier General Benjamin Lincoln at Yorktown. Generals George Washington and Rochambeau witnessed the surrender.
